Paris in May

At dusk, after dinner in a neighbourhood brasserie in the 4th, we walk along the embankment of the western edge of the Ile St Louis, navigating our way past knots of young people sitting and chatting and drinking.  The sky is rose red as we turn for home in the Marais.  This morning, Sunday, we take the metro to the Buttes-Chaumont and picnic on the grass amongst many other families doing the same, then to Pere Lachaise to visit the graves of Balzac and Oscar Wilde.  Bus back to the Bastille.   Tonight, dinner Corsican style; tomorrow, the Left Bank…
